High precision pedestrian routing

First place in this year's ESNC Baden-Württemberg Challenge 2018 went to the SafeRoute project by iXpoint Informationssysteme GmbH led by Stefan Siebert and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Ritterbusch. Based on current routing systems such as Open Street Map, the team has optimized the routing to such an extent that they can display obstacles, sidewalks and underpasses in order to provide a safe route for visually impaired people in particular. Furthermore, the company Teleportr GmbH from Stuttgart took second place in the Challenge. The founder Linus Linder's has developed a crowd platform solution for the last mile of parcel delivery. The third place went to the ARtist project by the company of the same name led by Tobias Kehrein, Dr. Somakanthan Somalingam and Angela Warnecke. ARtist has developed a tool that makes it possible to create virtual art and place it in public spaces.
