The two ESA BIC locations in Baden-Württemberg - Reutlingen and Friedrichshafen
In Europe there are 17 ESA Business Incubation Centers in 15 different countries - from Portugal to Estonia. Each year, 140 young companies receive support. They realize their business ideas with energetic financial support. Information about all European ESA Business Incubation Centers can be found here.
In Baden-Württemberg, two ESA BIC locations were rebuilt in Reutlingen and Friedrichshafen. Together with the already existing ESA BIC location in Darmstadt, they form the new ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Wuerttemberg. 60 Startups will be given the opportunity to incubate at the three sites by the end of 2021, and will go through the funding phase of up to 2 years. The companies Airbus Defense and Space in Friedrichshafen and Bosch Automotive Electronics in Reutlingen are available for technical support. The location in Reutlingen is organized by IHK-IWW, the location in Friedrichshafen / Immenstaad by Airbus Defense and Space, and that in Darmstadt by cesah, Center for Satellite Navigation Hessen GmbH.
Review of opening on April 13, 2018
The ESA Business Incubation Center locations in Reutlingen and Friedrichshafen / Immenstaad were opened on April 13, 2018 at 1 pm by Minister of Economic Affairs Dr. Ing. The opening of the ESA BIC locations Reutlingen and Friedrichshafen / Immenstaad took place in the Technology Park Tübingen-Reutlingen (TTR), where many well-known regional technology companies and startups are located. The ESA BIC Reutlingen has its seat in the TTR at Gehard-Kindler-Straße 8. The startups benefit from the short distances.
The event was also the prelude to the high-precision real-time Baden Württemberg navigation network. This technology called "Real Time Kinematic", RTK for short, will provide new applications. The RTK BW network creates greater potential since they are better exploited together. Specifically, they benefit the areas of construction, concrete civil engineering, logistics and applications for rescues.
